[You all descend down a large elevator - at least, those who are alive. It's a huge, non-descript elevator with no music to make it any less creepy. At the bottom floor, which it automatically descends to once everyone is inside, there's a large circle of podiums with placards of photos - photos of them: Jonah, Pidge, Missy, Lev, Janssen, Maria, Nemo, Jakub, Saira, Alex, Aurelia, Bri, Prudence, and Geoffrey. Tony and Jack's portraits, while there, are scratched out with red ink. Sitting atop a small platform is Yuri, lounged out casually in a large chair. ]

Come in, come in! Find your spots and we'll begin the trial!

[Eventually it seems everyone is settled in their spots, and Yuri sits back in his chair, steeping his fingers.]

So, the gist that you have to accuse someone of being the culprit in this case! You do this by voting. Democracy is the wave of the future, after all! The time limit is until I'm bored! And if the gathered votes are wrong, you all die, alright?

...Oh, and by the way, you dumbasses, there is a murderer amongst you. I'll show you the video once you've voted.

[He motions at them, smiling.]

Well, no one told me that we were doing that! I mean, how am I supposed to know if you all are keeping it in one little circle? I mean, whatever, I'm glad I ate all those cookies now so I didn't have any to share!

Everyone was supposed to meet by the cafeteria...

Well, no one told me that, either! I mean, you all could smell those cookies I was baking yesterday, right? You could have come to me and said something, I wouldn't bite!

Yuri announced it. Where were you?

Um, asleep?

/like, duhhhhhh

[very suspicious.]

He said someone died and you slept through it?

...And you said you were making cookies.

It woke me up for a bit, but then I fell back asleep. And yeah, I was making cookies yesterday after I woke back up. I mean, I did see the body and all, but come on, that kind of thing's really upsetting to see! I wasn't gonna be much help anyway, so, I figured... you know....

...So you didn't try to help or talk to someone or anything?

[yes, there's an unkempt 12-year-old judging you]

Well, I was gonna! I was going to bake some cookies and share them with you all, but then I got to thinking, you know? And I was thinking, god, how useless I'd be in it all, and then I got depressed and then I... um, I ate all the cookies. And then I was really depressed and remembered that, you know, someone died and I'm probably next and I went to bed. Look, if you're mad because I ate all the cookies, I'm fine with that.

I don't care about the cookies...

[That is a lie, but anyway-]

So you really didn't talk to anyone?

No, I didn't, and now I'm kinda mad at myself for not doing that....

/dejected look and then--

God, I'm so hungry now.

[pitifully stares at the podium]

[was too distracted by murder thoughts to get breakfast. or dinner last night. may very well pass out if the trial goes on for too long, really.]

--Well, okay, fine, after this trial's done, I can make you some more? A-and some lasagna! You know, if we get outta here alive....
