Okay, well, you go ahead and chop up the onions, then, go on, ugh thank you for doing that, I tear up too much around them!

/now to dig in through the pantry for other things

O-okay!

[stares at the onions]

[starts cutting them into slices]

[slowly and carefully]

/a few minutes later and out of the pantry

/shoving down potato chips and handing the bag to you

Hungry? I always get hungry when I cook.

[feels his stress level rise again immediately - it had just started to go down a little as long as she was busy]

[offers a tiny smile of appreciation as he grabs some chips, though]

I only get hungry after many hours, even when other people have food! But... when I am hungry, then I can't do anything else until I eat.

[feels sheepish and turns back to the onions]

Oh my god, you too? I can't even think if I'm starving! If I don't even have like a Hot Pocket or something, I think I'd die. See, that's why I stocked up on day one of this place. Hey, if you ever need a snack or anything after 10, just let me know. I'll give you half-price.

/hearty slap on the back

[barely manages a half-blink before he get slapped; chokes on his breath and has a miserable little coughing fit]

[frowns a her with slightly watery eyes]

What do you want for the snacks? Do we have money? We all don't have our, um... portemonnaies anymore, right? I think Yuri took them before we woke up.

Well, duh, half-price on favors owed back! Like, say I give you an Oreo or something. You'd owe me a favor back later on down the line. You know, like in the trial or whatever. Or half a donut or something. I'll take whatever you got, honestly. But I can't just give out things for free! It wouldn't be very economical.

Not a business, per se. I mean like a barter system. To promote closeness within the ranks. I realized that, if we're going to beat this Yuri guy at his own game, we need to band together, and what better way to do it than through an exchange system?

That-- that is nonsense! Nobody is going to like you if you are like this. A better way is to be honest and to help each other!

Uh, but I am honest about this. And I'm helping out those in need, too! I mean, it's not like I'm selling all of this food to the black market or at extremely high gouged rates. Besides--/shrug--I reserve the right never to call upon any of those favors I earn. It's not as though I haven't thought this all through.

I'll have to think about it! I might just let this one slide, though. Even if I don't have a favor from you, I think I will be okay.
